Treasures of Scotland Tour – 7 Days

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Edinburgh:
We will gather in the picturesque capital of Scotland, Edinburgh, a land of magnificent historical treasures and breathtaking landscapes. After settling into our hand-picked hotel, we’ll have a delicious welcome meal and get to know each other better.

Accommodation: Malmaison Edinburgh City (or similar).
Meals: Dinner

Day 2 – Doune and Perthshire:
After breakfast, we’ll board a mini-coach and go to Doune, where we’ll visit the imposing Doune Castle. Then, we’ll roll through the spellbinding Sma’ Glen to Perthshire, a region known for its picturesque lochs, mountain ranges, and lush forests. We’ll indulge in a delicious smoked salmon tasting at Dunkeld Smokehouse before having the evening free to explore the area or relax at the hotel.

Day 3 – Perthshire:
Today, we’ll explore the vastness of the highlands with a kilted safari ranger, going off-road through wild terrain to take in the area’s spectacular mountain views. We may even glimpse a golden eagle, mountain hare, or grouse. After an adventurous ride, we’ll visit the Red Deer Centre to see Britain’s largest native land mammal up close. Then we’ll return to the hotel for an afternoon of leisure time.

Day 4 – Scottish Crannog Centre and Luss:
We’ll visit the Scottish Crannog Centre, immersing ourselves in various craft, textile, and cooking demonstrations and gaining a unique insight into Scotland’s extensive and fascinating history. Following our visit, we’ll have a whisky-tasting session at Glengoyne Distillery. We’ll end the day along the western shore of Loch Lomond in the picturesque village of Luss, where a sumptuous group dinner awaits.

Day 5 – Glencoe:
Today, we’ll take a day trip through the magnificent Glencoe Valley, enjoying the leisurely pace as we admire the towering mountain ranges formed by volcanic eruptions and glacial movement thousands of years ago. We’ll visit Glencoe Visitor Centre and learn the haunting story of the Glencoe Massacre of 1692. Afterwards, we’ll have an afternoon of leisure time when we return to Luss.

Day 6 – New Lanark and Scottish Borders:
We’ll round off our visit to Loch Lomond with a scenic loch cruise, and after enjoying the views of the islands, mountains, and trees, we’ll head to the Scottish Borders. On the way, we’ll make a stop in New Lanark, an 18th-century mill village founded in the midst of the booming cotton industry and one of Scotland’s six UNESCO World Heritage Sites of ‘outstanding universal value.’ We’ll have a final group meal surrounded by the natural beauty of the Scottish Borders tonight.

Day 7 – Traquair House and Melrose Abbey:
Before our tour ends, we’ll visit Traquair House, the oldest inhabited house in Scotland, and Melrose Abbey, the final resting place of the heart of Robert the Bruce. Then, we’ll return to beautiful Edinburgh and say goodbye.
