Tour Itinerary

Day 1: London to Stratford-upon-Avon
Discover the birthplace of William Shakespeare and learn about Britain’s industrial revolution at Ironbridge. After leaving London, explore the charming market town of Stratford-upon-Avon with its many restaurants and riverside pubs. Visit Shakespeare’s birthplace, schoolhouse, and resting place before heading to Ironbridge, the world’s first iron bridge, built during the Industrial Revolution. Enjoy the views from above the River Severn before making your way to Shrewsbury, the county town of Shropshire, where you’ll stay for the next two nights.

Day 2: North Wales – Snowdonia National Park
Explore the imposing Conwy Castle and travel through the dramatic Pass of Llanberis in the shadow of Snowdon, Wales’ highest peak. Learn about Welsh struggles for independence and the tales of the rebellious Owain Glyndwr before heading back to your accommodation over the English border.

Day 3: Peak District National Park – York
Experience the Peak District National Park’s rugged moorland, walled pastures, and wooded valleys. After a scenic drive, visit the elegant spa town of Buxton to fill up your bottle with crystal-clear water from the famous spring. Then, head to Chatsworth House, the Duke of Devonshire’s famous stately home and gardens, before travelling north to the historic walled city of York, where you’ll spend the next two nights.

Day 4: York and the Dales
Spend the day exploring the medieval heart of York, or journey out with your guide on a half-day excursion across the Yorkshire Dales to the handsome market town of Knaresborough. Experience famed Yorkshire hospitality at its best before heading to some of the more remote areas and impressive scenery of the Eastern Dales. Tomorrow you’ll join a new group here,

Day 5: York – North Yorkshire Moors National Park – Whitby

Explore the rich history of the medieval city of York, with its Roman and Viking heritage, and visit the magnificent York Minster Cathedral. Journey to the North Sea coast of Yorkshire and take in the breathtaking views of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Enjoy lunch in Whitby, a bustling fishing port and the inspiration for Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”. Take some free time to explore the preserved fishing village of Robin Hood’s Bay before returning to York.

Day 6: Yorkshire Dales National Park – Keswick

Discover the Yorkshire Dales National Park’s stunning landscapes and cultural heritage, teeming with wildlife and recreation opportunities. Travel through the Northern Dales, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and arrive in the charming market town of Keswick for some free time.

Day 7: Ullswater – Windermere

Visit the Castlerigg standing stones and Aira Force waterfall before enjoying lunch with stunning views of Ullswater, known as England’s most beautiful lake. Cruise the lake or take a leisurely walk along its shores before visiting Hawkshead and Grasmere, where poet William Wordsworth attended grammar school. Return to Keswick for the night.

Day 8: Hadrian’s Wall -Scottish Borders- Edinburgh

Drive through the Hartside Pass for a unique view of the Scottish and English mountains. Follow in the footsteps of Roman Centurions along Hadrian’s Wall, cross the border into Scotland, and stop at Jedburgh Abbey. Visit the breathtaking Scott’s View before arriving in the great city of Edinburgh.
Departing from York, stop in Lincoln to see the beautiful historic centre and the world’s tallest building for around 200 years, the Cathedral of Lincoln. Then, continue to Cambridge to study the stunning university city and visit the iconic King’s, College Chapel. Take a guided punting ride along ‘the backs’ of the colleges, or climb the steps of St Mary’s tower to get a skyline view before heading back to London.
