Tour Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Edinburgh (Scotland) for Edinburgh to London Britain Tour,

Our adventure into Eastern England begins with a gathering in the historic Scottish city of Edinburgh. Over a delicious welcome meal, you’ll have the opportunity to meet your expert Tour Leader and fellow travellers.
Accommodation: Malmaison Edinburgh or a similar accommodation.
Meals: Dinner

Day 2 – Edinburgh – Alnwick – Durham – North York Moors (England)

We’ll start the day by crossing the border into England to tour the eastern region. Our first stop is Alnwick Castle, home to the Duke of Northumberland and featured in the popular TV series Downton Abbey. We’ll also explore the serene gardens before heading to Durham to visit its Norman-style Cathedral, now listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then, we’ll go to North York Moors for a group dinner at Gisborough Hall Hotel.

Day 3 – North York Moors – Whitby – North York Moors

We’ll drive to the traditional seaside town of Whitby for a guided tour of the Captain Cook Museum, followed by a visit to the 7th-century Christian monastery, Whitby Abbey. The abbey overlooks the North Sea on the East Cliff. In the evening, we’ll enjoy another group dinner at our accommodation in North York Moors.

Day 4 – North York Moors – York – Peak District

Our journey takes us back to the Middle Ages with a visit to the medieval city of York. We’ll wander the narrow streets known as ‘Snickelways’ and admire the timber-framed buildings of the Shambles. You’ll have free time to explore the city before we continue our journey to the Peak District, where we’ll stay.

Day 5 – Peak District – Chatsworth House – Peak District

We’ll explore the grand Chatsworth House, said to have inspired Jane Austen with its impressive architecture. It was also featured in Pride and Prejudice as Pemberley, Mr Darcy’s home. After an audio tour of the lavish apartments and some free time to explore the gardens, we’ll return to the Peak District for leisure.

Day 6 – Peak District – Lincoln

Our last day takes us to the historic city of Lincoln, with two stops along the way. First, we’ll visit Eyam, where we’ll learn about the tragic story of the villagers who fell victim to the plague in the 1600s. Then, we’ll visit Lincoln Castle, home to the original 1215 Magna Carta. We’ll end the day exploring Lincoln’s charming streets for local food or relaxation at The White Hart Hotel.

Day 7 – Lincoln

We will begin our day by visiting the stunning Lincoln Cathedral, an outstanding example of medieval architecture in England. Following this, you will have the afternoon free to explore the city’s rich history by discovering quaint tea rooms, vintage boutiques, and more. For dinner, there are plenty of cosy pubs in the old city centre where you can enjoy a hearty English meal.

Day 8 – Lincoln – Sandringham Estate – Cambridge

Today, we will visit Sandringham House, the private residence of King Charles III. It is a magnificent stately home with picturesque gardens and a museum. After our insightful visit, we will move on to Cambridge, an iconic city known for its history and tradition. This evening, you can relax in one of its centuries-old pubs and soak up the old-world atmosphere.

Day 9 – Cambridge

Today, we will experience an iconic punting tour along the ‘Backs’ of Cambridge University. After this, the afternoon will be yours to explore world-famous buildings such as The Wren Library and the Bridge of Sighs and visit colleges, chapels, museums, galleries, or shops. Later, we will enjoy a farewell dinner together.

Day 10 – Cambridge – Newmarket – London

Our final day will begin with a behind-the-scenes tour of Newmarket National Stud. We will gain a unique insight into a Thoroughbred breeding and may even have the opportunity to view some of the stud’s influential stallions in the paddocks. After that, we will go to London and say our final goodbyes.
