Tour Itinerary
Day 1 – Edinburgh (Scotland)
Scotland boasts magnificent landscapes, a rich cultural heritage, and captivating stories that spark the imagination. We will gather at our hotel and enjoy a delicious welcome meal while getting to know one another.
Accommodation: The Malmaison Edinburgh City (or similar).
Meals: Dinner
Day 2 – Edinburgh – St Andrews – Cairngorms National Park – Cairngorms Region
After breakfast, we will board a mini-coach and embark on a scenic journey. Our route will take us through historic fishing villages dotted along the east coast before arriving at our first destination, St Andrews. This charming town is renowned for its world-class golf courses and prestigious university, the third oldest in the English-speaking world. Following lunch, we will catch our first glimpse of the ethereal Cairngorms National Park before arriving at our accommodation for the night.

Day 3 – Cairngorms Region
We will return to the 16th century this morning to visit the grand Crathes Castle. This characteristically Scottish tower house boasts soaring turrets, intricately painted ceilings, and enchanting manicured gardens. After a delicious included lunch, we will explore the Royal Deeside area, which Queen Victoria found captivating during her 1848 visit. The evening is free for leisure.

Day 4 – Cairngorms Region – Cairngorms National Park – Speyside – Inverness
Our day will begin dramatically as we explore the stunning Cairngorms National Park and Speyside whisky region, led by our knowledgeable Tour Leader to specially chosen viewpoints. We will then experience authentic Scottish experiences, starting with a visit to the open-air Highland Folk Museum, used as a filming location for the TV series Outlander. Next, we will delve into the world of Scotch whisky with a lesson at a local distillery. We will uncover the centuries-old legends and complex processes behind turning malted barley into “liquid gold” and even get to sample a dram or two. Our day will culminate in Inverness, the welcoming capital of the Highlands, where we will share stories of our adventures over a delicious included dinner.

Day 5 – Inverness
After an orientation tour this morning, you will have the day to explore the city independently. Visit Inverness Cathedral, browse the charming Victorian Market, or unwind in a cosy pub. The day is yours to enjoy as you, please. You can indulge in the array of local eateries offering characterful and delicious Scottish fare for dinner.

Day 6 – Culloden, Loch Ness, Plockton, and Isle of Skye
On day six, we will head east towards the Culloden Battlefield, where we will learn about the history of the Highlands and the infamous battle that took place on this moorland. Next, we will attempt to glimpse the elusive Loch Ness monster before visiting the charming village of Plockton. We will admire the painted cottages and picturesque bay here before going to the stunning Isle of Skye. We will enjoy an included dinner at our hotel and discuss our plans for the following day.

Day 7 – Isle of Skye
The Isle of Skye boasts breathtaking scenery, rare wildlife, and a rich history that will capture your imagination. Today, we will spend the day exploring the island’s unique geology and dramatic landscapes, including the extraordinary Quiraing, Kilt Rock, and Old Man of Storr. After a full day of exploring, we will have the evening free to dine at our leisure or relax in our idyllic surroundings.

Day 8 – Isle of Skye to Isle of Mull
We will continue our journey through Scotland’s stunning landscapes before taking a short ferry ride to the breathtaking Isle of Mull. Here, you will have the evening to spend as you, please.

Day 9 – Isle of Mull to Isle of Iona and back to Isle of Mull
Today, we will explore the bewitching Hebrides by island hopping. We will sail from Mull’s Fionnphort village to Iona, where we will visit the medieval abbey and revered pilgrimage site. After returning to our hotel on Mull, we will have a final dinner together and toast to our Scottish journey.

Day 10 – Isle of Mull to Stirling and back to Edinburgh
On our final day, we will return to the mainland and stop in historic Stirling. A drive through the Old Town will bring us to the magnificent hilltop castle, where we will explore the many rooms and enjoy sweeping views from atop the castle walls. This will be the perfect way to end our Scottish adventure before returning to Edinburgh.
